Richard Kennan

Managing Director, Film Director

Richard was educated at Pangbourne College and completed a Short Service Commission in the Royal Navy, in submarines, before starting his career in Films and TV with twelve months on The Spy Who Loved Me at Pinewood Studios.

After training as a Film Editor at BBC Television, London, in 1977, his subsequent career covered nearly all programme genres, including major TV drama, documentaries, children’s entertainment and current affairs.  In 2005 he left ITV Anglia as a Senior Producer with the Regional Production Unit and set up Gig House Films Ltd with Jim Ring with whom he had collaborated on the critically acclaimed 2002 network documentary series Submarine.

The holder of various personal and programme awards and nominations, Richard continues to use his directing and editing skills on Gig House Films productions alongside his role as Managing Director of the company.
